The u12s played in the end of season tournament at Yate in the glorious spring sunshine last Sunday.
They started slowly against Bath and lost their first game 2-0
Next up was a game against local rivals Weston super Mare and boosted by a pep talk from coach Chris and mini eggs by co coach Clive they put in a much improved performance and won 2-0.
The final group match was against Redland, an early goal was conceded but the team then hit their stride and ran out 2-1 winners.
This meant that for the first time in several years the team progressed into the Shield competition for the top two teams in each pool, rather then the Plate.
The next game turned out to be our last as the team lost 3-2 in a high quality game which could have gone, to use the old cliche, either way.
So no medals this year, but coaches and parents agreed that the whole team were winners, as they had improved significantly across the season.
Special mention to goalie Seb who bravely played in the third game despite the pain of an injured thumb and Lucas who then stepped in as goalie for the Shield match as Seb's injury was too painful to play again.
The squad were Anais, Daisy, Darcey, Tilley, Harry, Lucas, Phoenix, Seb, Tom and Zac.
