The under 10s mixed team were in action over the weekend in the Avon Junior Hockey Tournament.
Winning the opening game and looking confident the team then met some strong and well drilled opponents from the biggest clubs in the South West. These games did not go our way but this do not flatten the team spirit or morale.
With their heads held high, North dominated their first knock out game wining 3-0.
With renewed energy they went into the playoff stages. Losing 1-0 to Chippenham B.
This still saw the team straight into the 3rd -4th play off. And what a game this was! North came out the blocks strong scoring first but with some skillful play by Chippenham, saw them equalise with a penalty shuffle.
Final whistle came - penalty shuffles were all the that remained.
All players wanting the step up and represent the team, 5 were chosen.
After 3 attempts from North and a monumental effort from
Beatrice in goal, Max Joyner stepped up to the mark. With a cool and calm approach, Max saw his opening and smashed the ball into the left corner. North win! 3rd place and some silver wear!
Huge all round team effort!! One very happy coach!
